Lift Turn Move Celebrates first Birthday
2005-09-22
Lift-Turn-Move celebrated their first birthday at PLASA 2005 in great style.
LTM was launched at PLASA 04 as a new, independently owned company with a fresh attitude to the lifting
and rigging industry. The tightly focused 8-person operation is concentrating on making life simple,
friendly, efficient and cost-effective for their clients a small is beautiful philosophy thats
proved an unmitigated success over the last 12 months.
Jones, a veteran of over a decade of PLASA shows, says that the 2005 one was Absolutely the busiest
exhibition since the show moved into Earls Court - the show was even too busy on Wednesday for us
to get off the stand
Sign of the Times LTM demonstrated their ability to think
on their feet when they arrived for the PLASA build! Realising their single
sided corporate sign needed in fact to have signage on both sides, John Jones
thought laterally. He asked around site for any contacts in the graffiti art
world.
Very soon Ben Miles from Avolites came up with his friend Maddy. Equipped
with some spray cans from the nearest car body shop, Maddys improvisational
skills and feel for colour and movement covered the reverse side of the stand
with a funky urban version of the LTM sign. It took him 5 minutes to figure
out what to do with the logo where it took us about 2 months to decide what
to do with our logo 12 months previously! exclaims Jones, We like his style
so much that it may well become a theme for next years exhibition stand.
Celebrating 50 Years of Lodestars
In recognition of Columbus McKinnon celebrating 50 years since the launch of their
flagship Lodestar Chain Motor, LTM commissioned a special re-print of the original
1955 Lodestar brochure complete with 1955 prices, which were quite a revelation!
John Jones made a special presentation of the brochure to CMs Wally Blount, and
together the two made the first cut in the LTM first birthday cake. The culinary
masterpiece made by Cakes Unique of Bebington also proved a popular stand attraction.
The 4-piece cake LTM 1 was precision engineered and calculated to be consumed
section by section by visitors over the four days of the show.
In conjunction with the Lodestar 50 celebrations, LTM is also running its own
competition to find the oldest Lodestar in the UK visit the LTM website -
www.liftturnmove.co.uk - for details.
Other stuff
LTM received great interest in the Lodestar and Prostar range of products and their
Equipchaine chain lifting device for theatrical applications. A white Prostar was
shown for the marquee businesses, with orders received on the stand for both
Prostars and Lodestars and many enquiries to follow up. Visitors love the friendly,
accessible, flexible and competitive service that we offer, we have no pretensions -
we are always glad of any business we can get says Jones.
