Northern Light replace GIS hoists with GIS after 20 years of service

Edinburgh Its not often that you contact a company to make a purchase, then 19 years later whilst sourcing replacements, find yourself dealing with exactly the same person that you dealt with all those years ago. Well this is exactly what happened when Northern Light in Edinburgh decided it was time to upgrade their hoists.

Initially they had bought the two GIS EM electric chain hoists from John Jones (now of LTM) back in 1992. The hoists were linked using an extended bar to allow lifting of normal loads using either hoist or long loads using both hoists together. These hoists are required to raise goods from floor level to two mezzanine levels up to 10 metres high. Following the original site survey, two GIS EM 500kg capacity electric chain hoists were recommended with electric travel trolleys, as they needed to havefast lifting to speed up the loading process. The hoists were delivered and installed into the newly extended premises of Northern Light on schedule.

Replacement Hoist

Roll on nearly 20 years, its 2011 and Northern Light contacted LTM to purchase replacement equipment and once again, John Jones was involved in the project. Northern Light were so pleased with the 19 years of continuous service from their previous GIS hoists, that they decided to purchase the newer GCH Model GIS units as replacements, these were connected to the same electric trolleys supplied in 1992 and still going strong. The original Radio Control Handset was wired up and is still working.

Now thats what we call continuation of service!
